Phnom Penh International University (PPIU)
Phnom Penh International University started its operations in 2002. Since 2010 PPIU has been led by Madam TEP Kolap as it Rector. It has four Faculties: Faculty of Business and Tourism (FBT), Faculty of Law and Economics (FLE), Faculty of Sciences and IT (FSIT), and Faculty of Education Science (FES); and MBA and PhD Programs. In addition, it has the Vocational Training Center which includes the International Language Center (ILC) providing English and Japanese classes, and other short courses.
PPIU’s staff, lecturers and Management Committee have done their best, from the start, to develop the study programs to catch up with the development of the Kingdom of Cambodia so that our students receive an education with quality and professional ethics, who will in turn contribute to the development of our society.
So far, PPIU has produced more than 10,000 graduates at all levels (Associate’s Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees, and Master’s Degrees). They are now working at public and private institutions, national and international organizations; and some have their own prosperous business. At present, we have about 3,500 students at all levels, from Associate’s Degrees to Master’s Degrees and PhD Program.
PPIU was the first University in Cambodia to receive in October 2018, in Bangkok, the SHARE Institutional Assessment Award, under the umbrella of the SHARE Project. In 2019, the university was awarded a full accreditation by ACC (the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia), the formal entity for the accreditation in Cambodia, based on its new national standard.
Further, PPIU was able to transit from classroom-based education to e-learning in a short period of time after the start of Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. It was among the few universities in Cambodia to receive the recognition and approval by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, in May 2020 for its “PPIU online education”.
